Campaign voice & tone

you asked. we cooked.

You Asked. We Cooked. was built around a simple truth: Taco John’s fans do not just like their favorite menu items, they fight for them. With the return of Mexi Rolls, the campaign turned years of fan requests, social comments, and nostalgic cravings into a bold creative platform that made customers feel heard.

The idea positioned the product comeback as a crispy, fried love letter to the people who kept asking for it. By putting real fan energy at the center of the campaign, the work celebrated longtime Taco John’s loyalists while creating buzz around a high-equity product with built-in cultural momentum.

wild west mex

Wild West Mex was created to introduce the Crunchy Dorado Taco as a bold new reason to visit Taco John’s. Built around fresh, bright flavor and a more adventurous eating experience, the campaign leaned into the idea that this product was not just another taco, it was something different for the brand.

The concept brought Taco John’s West-Mex® personality into a more flavor-forward space, using energetic language, bold product photography, and sensory cues like crunchy, crispy, smoky, saucy, creamy, and cheesy. The work was designed to make the Dorado Taco feel modern, craveable, and a little unexpected while still feeling rooted in the brand’s existing voice and visual system.
