Medora may be a town of just 130 people, but it offers a vacation experience that feels anything but small. The “Big Little Vacation” campaign leaned into that contrast, celebrating Medora’s mix of presidential history, outdoor adventure, live entertainment and Badlands beauty through a playful, nostalgic destination campaign.
Inspired by old-timey playbills, wanted posters and the rugged colors of the Badlands, the work created a distinctive visual system with custom typography, warm natural tones and photography that balanced epic scenery with intimate vacation moments. Across print, digital, outdoor, radio and video, the campaign positioned Medora as a place where small-town charm leads to larger-than-life memories.

one big little vacation
You can measure Medora by its size. 130 people give or take. But you can’t measure the effect Medora has on the people who visit.
The One Big Little Vacation campaign highlights the dramatic juxtapositions that make little Medora one huge destination. Served in bite-sized, cowboy-wisdom-style quips, our brand language shows the unexpected side to a storied town.
